In the summer of 2012, Knopfler and Beatrix moved to Calgary from
Toronto and Vancouver respectively. Both just finished University
and thought that moving to Calgary would be a great step for new job
opportunities.
In August, Knopfler started working at
Enterprise Rent-a-car as a management trainee and Beatrix soon
started a month later at the same location.
A month into
working with each other, Beatrix made a friendly wager with
Knopfler. They would guess how many clients they would interact with
that day, Knopfler guessing more than 30, Beatrix guessing 30 or
less.
Beatrix lost and ended up treating Knopfler that
very night to dinner at an Indian buffet, which they now considered
their "first date."
Fast forward nine years later,
Beatrix and Knopfler adopted a cat named Percy, moved to London, UK,
visted dozens of different countires with many more planned, met
each others familes and friends and are ready to tie the knot!
